An exercise in confirmation bias. Marcus eventually found 2 cases that confirmed his hypothesis. It only took 50 posts. This x-phi study will now be cited for years as proof that being a white male is not the source of your problems on the job market.

Ok so like, cocoons are well-know structures of lepidopterans, which I've heard many people say just want to be Hymenopterans. And needless to say, I can't disagree! Sadly, their metamorphoses are insufficient. Pretty sad :(

Now they’re grilling poor pendaran Roberts. Pendaran, my friend, if you’re reading this: you should have stopped posting at the cocoon ages ago

Poor Pendaran. What an insufferable dweeb.

Yeah, Pendaran, give it a break.

Yes, it's an interesting situation. Perhaps Arvan should run a post about the effects on one's career prospects of posting on the Cocoon under one's real name.

That is a serious case of punching down. Cocoon for what? Thwacking people without jobs?

The dude is being consistently obnoxious, he's not asking for a cocoon. He's actually explicitly against coddling and in favor of being harsh.

It's weird that I hate the Leiter Report, Daily Nous, and Cocoon pretty equally now. All of them are just platforms for the person running the blog to have a giant editorializing wankfest

I can't stand to read DN. It makes me miserable, so I never do it. I read Leiter. Yeah, he has his pet peeves and hobby horses and I don't always agree with him. But what I like is that he speaks in his own voice and isn't afraid to take unpopular stands. He's not trying to be a leader of the herd like some unnamed bloggers. He deserves props for that.

I can't stand to read the Cocoon, but I do anyway so that I can learn about which whiny, overbearing, conceited neck beards I shouldn't hire.
