What is going on at European Journal of Philosophy?

I keep hearing murmurs of unrest about this journal. Has it gone downhill since Bob Stern stood down as chief editor, e.g., in terms of review-times or general organisation?

Try to keep up, Heraclides is just a religious nutter who thinks we are all in a Fallen State. See the JW thread.

I haven't submitted to it, but several friends have. 1-year review times just aren't acceptable.

Perhaps. I had a 6m+ original review time, then an r&r. It's been months since I resubmitted. I submitted to them because of the quick turnaround.

They have a reputation for ~1 month review times. Has something changed?

Well, evidently. Read Nicholas' comments above!

Shrug. Maybe they do. I know two people who recently waited a little over a year.

It's the norm in most journals in ancient philosophy. and the tenure clock is ticking....

FWIW, I've reviewed for them a few times in recent years and everything seemed healthy to me. They encourage fast reviews and it seems the reviews I was involved with were turned around in about a month.

They use to be a lot faster under Stern's management -- and somehow the quality of accepted papers was also generally better..

It's a gravy train for friends of the editor. See for yourself:

I don't know why that site is relevant for the discussion. Does EJP have anything to do with this society for phenomenology?!
