"Attempts to rationalize the decision at... The Times fail to convince"

That would be an article by a leading barrister explaining why the sentence was an application of the sentencing guidelines and correcting some of the misreporting. Don't let the facts get in the way .....

I see the rationale: a barrister has said so, then it must be so.

In any case, that doesn't explain how she's still not been expelled from the university.

I have a feeling that Mom and Dad were able to sneak a lot past you when you were growing up.

Indeed, the fact that she still hasn't been expelled from the university is explained by the fact that as she's voluntarily suspended studies for the period of her suspended sentence, the university's disciplinary panel is prevented by its own procedures from sitting. So, basically, you were wrong about the sentencing issues and wrong about the university disciplinary issues. Do try harder.

Why wasn't she expelled after the first attack?

Why does the article say that she still hast the support of a number of senior people at her college?

I would tell you to try harder, but I wont because I don't want you to go any deeper into the abyss than you already are.

I have a clean conscience, so I don't have to medicate myself into oblivion.

As for those described in the article and those who run that crew...well...not so much...
